14 December 2009:
As of 12 November 2009 weather images and other weather-related metadata are no longer being
transferred to the GSA and as a result will not be included in future PI
data packages. Records of GSA download activity indicate that archive users
rarely retrieve these files so the effort required to maintain this
service will be applied to other archive activities.

2 June 2009: version 1.75 of the Gemini Science
Archive is released.
New functionality includes:
- New access control management pages for Gemini Principal Investigators.

Archive is released.
New functionality includes:
- Implementation of proprietary access to metadata
(FITS header content) for selected Gemini
observing programs.

Archive is released.
New functionality includes:
- CADC's new Download Manager provides realtime retrieval
of all GSA files.
- Addition of TEXES data to the GSA.

24 April 2006: version 1.40 of the Gemini Science Archive
is released.
New functionality includes:
- New standard queries for GNIRS, NIFS, bHROS, and Michelle.
- Archive users can now retrieve individual files
immediately by clicking on the
icon in the "Get File" column.
- New, individual System Verification (SV) datasets are now
available through the GSA.
- E-transfer improvements now result in raw Gemini datasets
being available to authorized archive users
typically within 15 minutes of acquisition.
- New logging interface for Gemini Staff.
- Bug fixes and interface improvements.

25 January 2006: version 1.35 of the Gemini Science Archive
is released.
New functionality includes:
- Addition of NIFS data to the GSA.
- Addition of bHROS data to the GSA.
- Addition of an Observing Log query form.

17 October 2005: version 1.3 of the Gemini Science Archive
is released.
New functionality includes:
- Some processed calibration files and science observations are now
available in the archive.
- PI Electronic Distribution now includes the distribution
of processed calibration files as well as IRAF processing scripts.
- A new "Search for Processed Calibrations" query form is now available.
- Links to relevant processed calibration files (when available) are provided
for the results of any GSA science query.
- PI's can list/retrieve observing logs for their programs via the PI
access page.

25 May 2005: version 1.2 of the Gemini Science Archive
is released.
New functionality includes:
- Availability of PI Electronic Distribution (version 1)
that distributes raw science data and ancillary files
(e.g. obslogs, weather images, etc). PIs are instructed via
email on how to retrieve the distribution package once they
are created by the GEMINI staff. Co-Investigators and other
authorized users can access these distribution packages through
the Gemini PI Access page
.
- Links to Mask Definition Files (MDF) from the science
page (where applicable).
- A new database server for improved reliability and query
performance.

11 March 2005: version 1.1 of the Gemini Science Archive
is released.

redirected to the new web site.
New functionality includes:
- Addition of GNIRS data to the GSA.
- Addition of Michelle data to the GSA.
- Gemini Science Program public content is now available in
the archive. Links are also provided to science programs
in query result pages.
- Users can now constrain GSA Science and Science Program
queries by keyword and science category.
- Improved performance and reliability with new dedicated
CADC web servers.
- Gemini System Verification data packages are now provided
from the CADC storage system.
